Year 3 study the Sun and planets

This Week in Year 3

This week has been the one and only time that staring into space has been encouraged during Year 3 lessons! Our unit

‘To Infinity and Beyond’ has taken a turn into a study of our sun and the planets and we have been on a voyage of discovery

throughout the solar system. (Just how many questions can 7 year olds ask in one lesson? We may have broken some kind of

record!)

.

We have ended our week in maths with an assessment about the relationship between adding and taking away – a tricky concept.

Our language work has continued with poetry and in particular, narrative poems. The children were enthralled during Mr Rund’s recital of ‘The Highwayman’ and came up with their own wonderful  metaphors for the opening of the poem
