Visitors
Parents and guardians are very welcome to visit you outside school hours, but must contact a member of the House Staff to arrange a suitable time, as pupils can be very busy doing other activities when they are not in school! All visitors should report to Reception in the first instance.
Laundry
Each pupil will be given two net laundry bags. In the morning pupils should bring any dirty laundry downstairs and put it in the laundry bags ready to be washed. After school, pupils should collect their clean laundry and put it away. The box should be put in the laundry room each morning for clean clothes to be put into. All clothes should be clearly named.
Electronic Equipment
Pupils may bring personal laptops, stereos, CD players, IPods or similar articles, but the School will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage. All laptops must be checked and approved by the Network Administrator, Mr. Colin Thomas, before use. All parents are advised to insure any personal items of value.
Weekend Visits
When going out for the weekend or other occasions not organised by the School, authorisation must be granted from our houseparent. This should be done by the Wednesday before the visit and must be authorised by a parent or guardian. All requests for weekend exeats must be sanctioned by the First Deputy Head.
Pupils shopping in Blackpool, Preston or Manchester must not travel alone but in groups of 2 or more.&
Guardians For Overseas Pupils
In the interests of each boarding pupil's welfare and as an additional reassurance to geographically-distant parents, we insist that all boarders whose parents live overseas have an educational guardian resident in Britain. Appointed by the parents, this is a responsible adult with whom the School can liaise routinely, who is encouraged to take an active interest in the pupil's education and who can act in loco parentis in emergencies. The School can help, if required, with the establishment of suitable guardianship arrangements.
