Climbing Trip to Preston Climbing Wall
Sunday 5th October - 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Climbing is a physically and mentally challenging sport that anyone can try out. Once you’ve had that first taste of success you’ll be hooked and determined to go higher next time.
Preston Indoor Climbing Facility is a great place to get started in climbing. It is often used for National Climbing Competitions and as a result the centre is top quality.
We took a large group of boys from the ISC on Sunday and had the benefit of having George Fleming, an excellent and very experienced instructor working with the boys. They responded to very well to the tutoring and all thanked him on leaving. It is always nice to see our boys being respectful and well mannered without being prompted.
Some of the boys were daunted and some were excited when they saw just how high the wall was. I did my usual trick of offering £5 to any boy who could get to the top of the main wall. Souichirou, from Japan did very well and got half way up the wall. Gethan, from China and Kilian from Germany also did very well. Fortunately no one reached the top!
