Middle School

Rossall Middle School is a very special place - a wonderful mix of learning opportunities, activities, people, languages and cultures. Working together and playing together, Rossall Senior School pupils receive a unique educational experience that leads to a well-rounded appreciation of – and approach to – all that life has to offer.

Middle School

At Year 7, your son or daughter will enter Middle School which is home to Years 7, 8 and 9 and is housed in a stand alone building at the front of the campus. Each year group has its own area of Middle School and across these three year groups, your child will be placed into one of three co-educational Houses:

As a member of a House they will compete against pupils from the other Houses in a range of competitions including sports, chess, panel quizes and the annual house singing competition amongst others.

Headed by Mr Ken Sullivan, Rossall Middle School was re-established in September 2006 to provide an academic and pastoral focus for pupils in Years 7-9 as they make the transition from Junior to Senior, and as they prepare to move towards their GCSE options. For boarders in this age group however, a sense of consistency is maintained, as they continue to board in the Junior boarding house, Anchor House, which provides family orientated pastoral care.
