CCF Summer Camp (Army Section) .................... 5th – 12th July 2008
The CCF Central Camp this year is at Warcop and this is the Army section's annual camp. The programme is an excellent mix of challenging and exciting activities, covering all the key areas that the Cadet Organisation exists to promote.
The Camp is resourced at a particularly high level this year, with the majority of instructors drawn form the Cadet Training Teams and from other Units within the Brigade. The programme has been designed to minimise the instructional burden on our Contingent.
Aim. The aim of the camp is to provide a concentrated period of military training, focussed on developing the Cadets in the key areas of Leadership, Fieldcraft and Skill at Arms.

Hill walking will be based in the area around the lakes with subject matter experts running this activity.
(7) (WW) Warcop Wanderer – Warcop Wanderer is a one-day teaching exercise in Section & Platoon battle drills. The aim is to revise Contingents on section battle drills and then implement them into Platoon battle drills. The exercise will make the most of battle simulation, be realistic and conducted as safely as possible.
(8) (MS) March and Shoot – The March & Shoot competition will take place on the Friday morning of the training week. Groups of twenty cadets from each contingent/combination of contingents will be selected and will compete in a 4.5km route march concluding with an obstacle course. On completion of the course the team’s best four shots will take part in a 25m shooting competition. Points will be awarded, which will go towards a Contingent presentation at the end of camp. This is a gender free competition. Those Cadets not competing will be required to come along and support their teams.

Summary. The CCF Camp at Warcop promises to be an excellent event. With hard work and dedication from all concerned, coupled with good communication between Contingent and Cadets will undoubtedly be a huge success. All events will be recorded and will go towards your diploma in public services if you wish to take this up. A small charge of £50 will have to be paid, but it is well worth it.
For any cancellations received after the 16th June 2008, a bill may still have to be raised, as we have to pay for bookings in advanced.
There is also a strong possibility that photo’s will be taken of cadets participating in various events. Parental permission will be sought if photo’s are used for military magazines, Regimental journals etc.
It is strongly recommended that insurance be taken out against loss of personal effects for the period of the camp; Rossall School cannot accept liability for such losses.
